Lytle Mix

Welcome to the latest instalment of the badly titled Everyone Has Got one Good Song blog thing. Day 83!

I was thinking of building the ultimate playlist with one simple rule. One artist. One song. Each day will feature a song by an artist whose birthday is that day and then nine other songs by nine different artists just because people like things to be in tens.

The playlist is here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4exU9MUJMWaouOgnu7zmSl?si=I5fqk7VpQX6aDGec7xvqsQ&pi=e-IfIWXc5GT56R

So, the idea was that you might want to follow and share and either have the playlist yourself or do your own or chat about it with me, you could use the hashtag #EHGOGS.

I’m on Twitter X thing as @fourfoot

GO PROGRESS CHROME – Grandaddy I’ve written elsewhere how much I love this band. “They paint the moon today, some brand new future colour…”

LIFE IN A GLASSHOUSE - Radiohead My best pal The Monk was into this lot from the start. I thought they were shit. Anyway I changed my mind in the end and this bit of Dixieland despair is just to die for.

KILLING SMILE – Death in Vegas Just a lush bit of Hope Sandoval doing Hope Sandoval flavoured things, that’s all.

NEVERTHELESS – Brian Jonestown Massacre. I do like a little bit of revival psychedelia every now and then. Best enjoyed, as I am enjoying now, with a Rich Tea light biscuit.

BREATHE AND STOP – Q-Tip A must for any party this tune. Q-Tip is in my top 5 MC’s of all time, a wonderful poet, brilliant delivery and this is like I said, one for the volume up…

THAT’S THE WAY LOVE IS – Ten City Little bit of 1988 to keep you dancing.

TUMBLERS TO THE VAULT - Syrinx Got introduced to this on Twitter earlier this month. Some Canadian electronica from the early 70s. Boards of Canada will surely know about this….

ME VOY PA’L PUEBLO - Mapache A little bit of Mexicali tinged loveliness.

GET DOWN TONIGHT – KC and the Sunshine Band Irresistible.

MACARTHUR PARK – Richard Harris. “Someone left a cake out in the rain….”

As ever, your love is taken as read. Thanks for putting up with this shite. Tomorrow, normal service is resumed. Your disappointment is taken as read, also. It’s that Billy McKenzie’s birthday tomorrow….
